Our Story

In 1998, Captain Rob made a decision that changed his life: he quit his day job to become a full-time fishing guide on Lake Allatoona. A lot of people thought he was crazy. But nearly 30 years later, First Bite Guide Service has grown into a team of 7 experienced guides running hundreds of trips per year.

Being a full-time guide service isn't just a title—it means something. It means we have a boat on the water almost daily, 365 days a year. It means we know where the fish are today, not where they were last month. When you book with us, you're getting a team that's dedicated their lives to putting people on fish.

Our philosophy is simple: "Every trip is run like our own grandkids are on the boat." That means safety first, patience with beginners, and making sure everyone—from the experienced angler to the first-timer—has a great time. We maintain a non-smoking, family-friendly, G-rated atmosphere on every trip. Some of our earliest young clients are now fishing on their college teams. That's the kind of impact this sport can have.

We're not here to rush you through a trip or pressure you to book. We're here to share our love of fishing and help you create memories on the water. Whether you catch 50 fish or 5, we want you to leave feeling like you had an experience worth remembering.

Lake Allatoona is our home. We've fished it in every season, every condition, for nearly three decades. When you fish with us, you're tapping into that knowledge. We know the spots that produce when nothing else is working. We know how the fish move through the seasons. And we know how to put a rod in your hands and get you hooked up.
