The winter pattern is in full swing on Lake Allatoona. Stripers are schooled up in deeper water and feeding aggressively on cold mornings. We've been putting clients on quality fish all week.

Water temps have dropped into the low 50s, which has the stripers grouped up in predictable areas. We're finding most of our fish in 25-40 feet of water, holding near creek channel bends and main lake points.

Live bait has been the ticket—threadfin shad rigged on a Carolina rig and slow-trolled through the schools. When we find the fish on the electronics, it's been game on.

The Johnson family from Atlanta joined us on Tuesday and absolutely crushed it. We landed 23 fish before noon, including several nice 8-10 pounders. The kids had a blast!

If you've been waiting for the crowds to thin out, now is your time. Winter fishing on Allatoona is some of the best-kept secret in North Georgia.
